According to Buddhist teaching thought or (mind) is violence itselfAfter all the problem is not the existence of thoughts or demons collectively called "mind"; the problem is that somehow they have taken over your life. How do we know what is real and what is fantasy? I suggest you watch the film called "A BEAUTIFUL MIND" about professor John Nash a brilliant mathematician who at some point started to experience delusions or schizophrenic episodes. The film presents his world containing these people and what happens to him as he becomes more involved with them. At some point he becomes paranoid and is admitted to a hospital. He eventually deals with the situation with the help and love of his wife and his intelligence. He is able to realize that if he ignores them or doesn't indulge them they will lose their power. At first they get up to their old tricks and cause mayhem in his mind, but he persists and they become less powerful and eventually they are just on the sidelines of his perception and he can live a fruitful life. Now the interesting bit is how this co-relates to what I have been seeing in the world at large. The very first thing is most people are controlled by thoughts or demons to varying degrees. For most people the control is not to tight and they do not fall into their total grip. In the film about John Nash they showed about four demons or delusions as people. As he indulged in them more they presented a dream world taking him over for greater periods of time. Now It it obvious that if you give even one of these characters attention you feed them all. The more you feed them the more they fool you. You are not that different from a schizophrenic just less severe a case! My strong suggestion is follow the wisdom of John Nash DO NOT INDULGE YOUR THOUGHTS AND TORMENTORS! When one of them comes to you DO NOT GIVE IT JUICE be careful not to actively ignore it; that will feed it. PASSIVELY IGNORE IT like you would ignore a fly on the wall Of course you must be able first to see what is real and what is unreal. (more later) Creativity is a two edged sword, it can also be very dangerous because it involves entering the world of thought and fantasy, where concepts flow around and it is all to easy to loose the boundary between the actual world and the fantasy world. In the fantasy world which in fact is in the physic realm you are vulnerable to attack by the demons that live there. They are parasitic and need your intelligence and body form to have experience. they have been created by in large by people thinking . They are like the ring wraiths in "Lord of the Rings" If no-one indulged them they would fade away and disappear the psyche would be clear. StonehengeThis is a monument to mankind's folly of building structures to worship and reach God. No doubt its builders took it very seriously but thousands of years later it is a ruin and we do not even know who the people who built it were . Their religion and culture lost in the past. Are you worshiping false icons in your life now?
